CAF President: Football stadiums and infrastructure in Morocco are “world class”

The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, congratulated Morocco for its “world-class” stadiums and football infrastructure, on the occasion of the holding, Friday in Rabat, of the meeting of the executive committee of CAF, in the new headquarters of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), after a site visit.

“The excellent headquarters we visited today and the world-class football stadiums and infrastructure in Morocco are good examples of the success and achievements that can be achieved through the partnerships between our African governments and our national football associations. said Motsepe.

During its meeting, the executive committee of the African football body also appointed new members of the CAF Referees Committee, including Moroccan Yahya Hadqa.

“The integrity, independence and credibility of referees, match commissioners and VAR operators are crucial to the respect and growth of African football and we are confident that the members of the newly appointed CAF Referees Committee will contribute to the growth and global competitiveness of football in Africa,” insisted Mr. Motsepe.

In addition, the executive committee approved the cancellation of the second additional preliminary phase of the CAF Confederation Cup.

This decision means that the 16 winning clubs of the second preliminary round will qualify directly for the group stage of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup for the 2023-2024 season.
