The President of the Republic Mohamed Bazoum received, in the afternoon of this Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at his office, the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China accredited to Niger, Mr. Jiang Feng who announced an investment of approximately 300 million US dollars for the month of June in Niger.
According to Jiang Feng, this investment is the fruit of the China-Niger forum held in Niamey last April.
The Chinese diplomat said that this meeting with President Bazoum is part of the strengthening of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, and also made it possible to inform him that “thanks to his unreserved support, the forum of he China-Niger investment held in April was crowned with great success. It is therefore time to materialize the fruit of this forum with a new investment underway for this month of June of approximately 300 million US dollars.
Furthermore, ”I also reported to the President that a Chinese inspection team has already arrived in Niamey for the renovation of the Seyni Kountché general stadium to which the President attaches great importance and makes it one of his concerns” he underlined before reassuring that “the Chinese side will do everything possible to accelerate the renovation of this stadium in order to meet the requirements of the African Football Federation”.
Finally, ”I also showed the President the progress of the Kandadji dam project which, despite all the difficulties, the Chinese company is continuing its work and we are convinced to accomplish this project. humbly as soon as possible” concluded the Chinese diplomat.
