DGSN: 3 police officers before the Public Prosecutor’s Office for embezzlement

The National Bureau for the Fight against Economic and Financial Crime under the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) referred, on Thursday, to the public prosecutor’s office at the Rabat Court of Appeal, eight people, including three police officers, for their alleged involvement in the squandering and embezzlement of public funds, falsification and the production of statements containing falsified data.

A press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), taken up by MAP, indicates that the DGSN had previously undertaken an internal audit of the financial management of the cavalry school having reported fraud in public contracts, which which necessitated the temporary suspension of the former director of the school to the rank of comptroller general, and his submission to a judicial inquiry under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.

The research and investigations carried out in this case, adds the same source, focused on seven other suspects, suspected of their complicity and their participation in these criminal acts, including five managers of contracting companies in addition to other police officers. detained for the purpose of investigation in a separate case.

Those brought before the public prosecutor’s office were imprisoned by order of the competent judicial authority, while a woman among the suspects was placed under judicial control.

This case is part, according to the press release, within the framework of the efforts made by the National Security services to fight against the crimes of financial corruption, and to consolidate the principles of integrity and moralization of the action of the service of the police.
