Examinations for the certificate of completion of preparatory lessons are launched throughout the national territory

Examinations for the certificate of completion of preparatory lessons began this morning, Wednesday, nationwide.

71,667 candidates are participating in these exams at the national level, including 17,989 freelancers, and 19,010 from private schools.

The number of girls participating in these exams is 34,668 candidates, which represents 59.63%.

The exam will take place during three days in 324 centers, including 249 at home and 74 in Nouakchott, in addition to one center in Banjul, Republic of The Gambia.

His Excellency the Minister of National Education and Reform of the Educational System, Mr. Brahim Val Ould Mohamed El Amine, visited some examination centers at the level of the city of Nouakchott.

The visit of His Excellency the Minister included Preparatory School Riyadh 5 in Nouakchott South, Preparatory Sebkha 1 in Nouakchott West, and Preparatory School Tiaret 1 in Nouakchott North.

During this visit, His Excellency the Minister was able to see the conditions in which the exam is conducted and the methodology used in monitoring and supervision.

His Excellency the Minister interviewed the students about the topics raised in the exam and the extent to which they are consistent with the information they received in the course during the school year.

And he gave his instructions to the officials of the centers and the authorities supervising the exam to provide all facilities for the candidates and to take into account their circumstances in light of what is allowed by the legal texts regulating the exams.

In a statement to the Mauritanian News Agency, His Excellency the Minister stated that the visit he made to some examination centers provided an opportunity to see the progress of the examinations and the circumstances in which they are conducted.

He said that the certificate of completion of preparatory lessons is considered one of the most important national certificates, as it comes at the end of an important cycle of secondary education for the student who will begin the stage of preparation for the baccalaureate certificate, which enables university entry.

His Excellency the Minister thanked all the official, administrative and educational authorities and parents for their sacrifices in order to make the national exams a success.

He mentioned that the state had pursued a comprehensive reform of the educational system, the features of which were manifested in the establishment of the Republican School, whose services extended to all components of Mauritanian society and demonstrated its success through its experience in its first year.

His Excellency the Minister was accompanied during the visit by the Secretary-General, senior officials in the Ministry, the governors of the states of Nouakchott and the President of the National Federation of Associations of Parents of Pupils and Students.
