The president of the Réunion region in Madagascar

The President of the Réunion Region, Huguette Bello, arrived in Madagascar on Sunday. Since then, she has traveled the four corners of Madagascar. On the third day of her visit to the Big Island, she signed with the governor of the Boeny region, Moktar Andriatomanga, a declaration of intentions for decentralized cooperation which materializes the new impetus that the regional community wishes to give to its cooperation strategy. regional and co-development.

The Réunion Region is already particularly committed to this Boeny region. With the support of FICOL, the French Development Agency, and in partnership with Regions of France, the Réunion Region supports the project to build a technical high school in Besely, led by the NGO “Ecoles du Monde”. .

She was also received for a working meeting at the Malagasy headquarters of the International Organization of La Francophonie by its representative in the Indian Ocean, Ambassador Léonard-Émile Ognimba. They both agreed on the common interest of the Réunion Region and the OIF to strengthen regional cooperation which contributes to the development of a local Francophonie. This collaboration will foster new mobility opportunities for young people from Reunion in the countries of the area.

The President of the Region was welcomed at the Residence of France for a reception given in her honor by the Ambassador of France, Arnaud Guillois, who had also invited the President of the Senate of Madagascar, many Malagasy ministers, governors and members of the French and Reunion community who live in Antananarivo.
