The Council of Ministers met on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, under the chairmanship of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Republic.
The council studied and approved a draft decree approving an urban plan for the city of Kifah and its environs in the municipality of Kifah, Kifah district, wilaya of Assaba.
The draft decree aims to endorse the scheme for dividing the city of Kiffa, which works to develop the city in an organized manner, taking into account the basic criteria for creating an adequate life that guarantees security and tranquility for citizens, and preserves and protects the environment and natural landscapes, and in the context of the large migration of the rural population, which caused The spread of urbanization and the establishment of slums in parts of the city.
This scheme consists of three areas:
– restructuring area,
– expansion area,
– an area where construction is prohibited,
It covers a total area of 12,157 hectares and includes:
The habitable area is 9363 hectares
Rehabilitation of 8,639 passages.
-10,764 plots of land with an area of 400 square meters in the expansion area,
Land plots for public facilities with an area of 339 hectares,
A road network of 2380 hectares.
The total number of existing buildings is 34,606.
The total number of wall-type properties is 9284.
– A census of 8,709 buildings located in the paths of the roads that have been constructed,
– Counting 8157 existing walls in the paths of the roads that were constructed.
