So many fantastic TV shows get canceled wayyyyy too soon, so here are a bunch of shows (some great, and some…fine) that were unfortunately canceled this year in 2025. Hopefully a different network or streaming service will pick up a few of these for new seasons, but feel free to sound off in the comments with all of your own opinions.
1.
Boots (2025) was canceled by Netflix after one season.
What it’s about: “Bullied gay teen Cameron joins the Marine Corps with his best friend despite risks. In boot camp, they experience profound personal change amid danger, as their platoon confronts both literal and figurative landmines.”

Poker Face (2023–2025) was canceled by Peacock after two seasons.
What it’s about: “Charlie has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying. She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and at every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes that she can’t help but investigate and solve.”

The Sex Lives of College Girls (2021–2025) was canceled by HBO Max after three seasons.
What it’s about: “Four 18-year-old freshman roommates at Essex College in Vermont. A bundle of contradictions and hormones, these sexually active college girls are equal parts lovable and infuriating.”

Doctor Odyssey (2024–2025) was canceled by ABC after one season.
What it’s about: “Max is the new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the small but mighty medical team navigate unique medical crises and each other, miles from shore.”

Dexter: Original Sin (2024–2025) was canceled by Showtime after one season.
What it’s about: “A prequel series that follows a young Dexter Morgan as he transitions into an avenging serial killer.”

The Recruit (2022–2025) was canceled by Netflix after two seasons.
What it’s about: “Owen Hendricks, a CIA lawyer, becomes involved in massive international conflicts with dangerous parties after an asset tries to expose her relationship to the agency.”

What it’s about: “A revival of the original series that ran from 1984–1992. It follows judge Abby Stone as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew.”

And finally The Kitchen was canceled by the Food Network after 36 (!!!!!!!) seasons.
What it’s about: “A cooking-themed talk show where Food Network personalities come together to prepare a variety of cuisines, explore food trends, and revisit familiar dishes while highlighting their individual cooking styles and backgrounds.”
