How the Tables Turned
Until recently, Intel consistently lead in gaming performance. Even with five years of progress, AMD’s Ryzen CPUs couldn’t consistently surpass Intel in this critical area.That all began to change with the 2022 release of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which edged out the Core i9-12900K.
The following Ryzen 7 7800X3D then decisively outperformed every other CPU available. Intel hasn’t been able to regain the lead since. Furthermore,the company encountered additional hurdles with its 13th and 14th Generation Core processors.A voltage bug caused instability in numerous consumer systems and negatively impacted the company’s stock value. To make matters worse, the recently released Arrow Lake CPUs proved slower than their predecessors.Consequently, Intel CPUs are now often the least desirable option, whether you’re a gamer, content creator, or everyday user.
Despite remaining a major player,Intel is in a precarious position. The fall from industry leader to a secondary choice is dramatic,and a significant course correction is needed to restore its former dominance. I’m notably eager to see if the upcoming Nova Lake architecture can effectively counter AMD’s next-generation offerings.

Additionally, both Nvidia and AMD are rumored to be accelerating the launch of their next-generation graphics cards, possibly also in late 2026.Here’s a breakdown of what’s on the horizon:
