The ship docked at the Sassnitz/Mukran ferry port to take on fuel on Wednesday night when officers boarded the “Disney Adventure”.

Police searched the 1122ft long and 150ft wide luxury liner before two on board workers were arrested.

Both men had warrants for their arrest.

A spokesperson from the German Federal Police said: “The two individuals are shipyard workers travelling with the ship”.

“[They] are to carry out final work on the ship’s test voyage.

A 44-year-old Croatian worker was wanted by the Augsburg police (Bavaria) for drink-driving.

He was sentenced in the Augsburg District Court in 2022 to pay a fine of €2,400 (£2081) or spend 60 days behind bars.

He subsequently paid the fine and was allowed to remain on board the boat.

The second worker – a 24-year-old Slovenian man – was wanted for fraud.

A warrant was issued for his arrest by the Munich District Court.

When it arrives, work on the ship will continue.

The ocean-going giant will begin official cruises in December, in Southeast Asia.

The ship is set to accommodate 6700 passengers and an estimated 2500 crew members.
