Originally released on compact disc, the 2025 edition boasts five previously unreleased tracks, alongside updated artwork and liner notes.
A Sonic Departure rooted in Wrecking Ball
Spyboy emerged from the groundbreaking sessions for Harris’ 1995 collaboration with daniel Lanois, Wrecking Ball.That album redefined the boundaries of country music,and Spyboy represents Harris’ exploration of how to bring that innovative sound to the stage. She envisioned a different approach after her experiences with the Hot Band and the Nash ramblers.
The album captures performances from 1996 and 1997 tours across America and Europe, featuring a stellar band assembled for the Wrecking Ball follow-up. This included Buddy Miller on guitar and vocals, Brady Blade on drums, percussion, and vocals, and Daryl Johnson on bass, djembe, percussion, and vocals.
