Artists Nationwide Mobilize Against Project 2025 with “People vs. Project 2025” Initiative
A powerful new network of artists adn cultural workers is rising to defend democracy and cultural pluralism in the face of Project 2025, a conservative political agenda. This grassroots initiative, dubbed “People vs. Project 2025,” aims to blend artistic expression with activism, creating a coordinated national response.
The network formed organically just three months ago during the Americans for the Arts conference in Cincinnati. Artists, activists, and advocates recognized the urgent need for a unified artistic front against forces they believe threaten the nation’s cultural landscape.

A Call to Action for the Artistic Community
This initiative provides a framework for artists to support local activist work and connect with a national network of like-minded individuals. Cincinnati community organizer MC Rietz, an attendee at the Americans for the Arts conference, emphasized the importance of this coordinated effort.
“Since protests began after the inauguration, I’ve been looking for ways to rally artists to support local activist work,” Rietz explained. “This initiative is providing a framework to do just that,in community with a national network of artists doing the same in their local places.”
The “People vs. Project 2025″ network represents a powerful assertion of the arts’ role in defending democratic values and fostering a pluralistic society. It’s a call to action for all artists and cultural workers who believe in the power of creativity to shape a better future.
