Singaporean authorities completed the post-mortem examination, and Garg’s body was formally released to representatives from his entourage, in the presence of officials from the Indian embassy. The remains were embalmed and transported to New Delhi late saturday, with a chartered flight scheduled to bring them to Guwahati early Sunday.
The Assam government is coordinating the arrangements for a respectful and public farewell. Upon arrival in Guwahati, the body will first be taken to Garg’s residence, allowing his family – including his father and wife – to pay their respects.
