Beyond the Bezel: What I Hope to See in the OnePlus Watch 4
OnePlus has been steadily refining its smartwatch game, and the Watch 3 represented a significant leap forward. It was a year focused on bolstering the hardware, and the results were impressive. But now, looking ahead to the potential OnePlus Watch 4, I’m less concerned wiht more features and more interested in a truly refined software experience.
A Hardware Foundation Well-Established
Let’s quickly recap what made the Watch 3 a standout. Compared to its predecessor, the Watch 2, it brought a premium feel with a titanium bezel and a functional rotating crown. You also got a boost in battery life thanks to a denser silicone-carbon battery, alongside a brighter, larger display.
Moreover, the upgraded coprocessor improved background task handling, and the addition of two new health sensors brought it in line with other top-tier smartwatches. Essentially, OnePlus addressed the core hardware needs.
The Software is Where the Magic Needs to Happen
Now, with a solid hardware foundation in place, my focus shifts entirely to software. I’m cautiously optimistic about Wear OS 6, but OnePlus needs to deliver something truly special. It’s not enough to simply run the latest version of the operating system.

It’s About the Experience, Not Just the Specs
Honestly, I’m less interested in chasing incremental hardware upgrades. A larger battery or a slightly faster processor won’t excite me at this point. What will grab my attention is a smartwatch that feels thoughtfully designed, intuitive to use, and genuinely enhances my daily life.
