Argentina’s “prepararnos. Secundaria Activa” Program Confirms Student and Teacher Participation
The Argentine Ministry of Education and Human Rights has finalized enrollment for the “Prepararnos. Secundaria Activa” program, offering 1,500 secondary school students the prospect to earn academic credit during February. The program aims to support students’ academic trajectories through virtual learning and accreditation opportunities.
Program Enrollment exceeds Expectations
According to Paula Quezada, Coordinator of the program, initial enrollment targets were surpassed, leading to the accommodation of all 1,500 students. “In relation to the registrations, the quota we had proposed in the first instance was exceeded, so we decided to support and sustain the school trajectories of 1,500 students,” Quezada stated.
Confirmation and Platform Access
The Ministry is currently contacting each student to confirm their participation, assign classrooms, and provide tutorial videos for accessing the online platform. Students are advised to monitor the email addresses they provided during registration for important updates. classes will begin on February 2nd, with two virtual sessions per week. The accreditation phase is scheduled for February 23rd-27th.
Mandatory Attendance and Waitlist Management
participation in all virtual sessions is mandatory. This requirement was implemented due to high demand, with a waitlist established after the 1,500 available spots were filled. Students who do not attend the first session will be replaced by those on the waitlist. Quezada emphasized, ”The virtual classes are mandatory for it to be a real instance of teaching and learning.Considering that 1,500 vacancies were enabled, but there were boys and girls on the waiting list, the mandatory attendance was defined. If they do not connect to the first meeting, we will communicate with those who are on the waiting list.”
Students on the waitlist are encouraged to remain attentive, as they might potentially be contacted if spaces become available. The Ministry will continue to communicate with waitlisted students throughout the week.
Teacher Participation and Support
Teachers participating in the program will also receive confirmation emails detailing their roles and responsibilities. Each field of knowledge will be supported by a dedicated teacher and coordinator, providing guidance and monitoring throughout the program. The Ministry will be contacting teachers via email “to confirm their participation and provide all the information about the role and function they are expected to perform.”
