Spanish prosecutors have dropped their inquiry into allegations of abuse against singer Julio iglesias. The Spanish Supreme Court in madrid announced on Friday that the Spanish justice system lacks jurisdiction in the matter. This follows a report by the online news portal elDiario.es, which first reported the allegations made by two former domestic workers ten days prior.
The two women alleged in their complaints filed in Madrid that they worked without a contract in two of Iglesias’ villas in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas in 2021. They claimed to have been subjected to sexual assault and restrictive controls. Iglesias was accused of sexual coercion, human trafficking, and assault. Both women had previously given testimony as protected witnesses.
