Rangers manager Philippe Clement is prioritizing the Scottish Premiership after his team’s recent participation in the European competition. Clement emphasized a renewed focus on the league campaign, aiming to capitalize on a period with fewer distractions.
The upcoming schedule presents a meaningful test for Rangers, with three of their next four matches against teams currently in the top five of the league. This includes an away match against Hibernian on Sunday, February 1st (14:00 GMT), followed by Scottish Cup games against Kilmarnock and Queen’s Park.A crucial league fixture against Motherwell at Fir Park is scheduled for February 11th (20:00), and they will then host hearts at Ibrox on February 15th – a team that has defeated Rangers twice this season.
“We are now fully focused on 15 match days in the league and it helps us to have two normal weeks,” Clement stated. “it’s the first time we can really train and can be fresh.”
Clement highlighted the importance of squad rotation and preparation, noting that some players are returning from injury while others are being closely monitored by a dedicated coach in Glasgow. He expressed confidence in the team’s readiness for the challenges ahead. “We did well with the rotation. The next two-and-a-half weeks we have big games ahead and we need everyone. Some players will come back, some trained today. We kept one coach in Glasgow with them to be as prepared as possible. On Sunday, we go again with full conviction.”
