The Future of Society in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: A Global Research Conference
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, the University of Sharjah will host the Second International Conference on Applied Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences, titled “The Future of Society in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” This pivotal event,organized by the University’s Institute for Research in Humanities and Social Sciences,will take place from February 10th to 12th,2026,bringing together a diverse cohort of researchers and academics from local and international universities and research institutions. The opening session will be held on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026, at the Farabi C2 building, Zahra Hall, in the Women’s Campus of the University of Sharjah. The three-day program will feature scientific sessions and interactive workshops, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas among leading scientists and experts.
The conference aims to highlight the role of Artificial intelligence (AI) in advancing scientific research within the humanities and social sciences.It seeks to enhance AI’s capacity to address societal challenges and ethical, social, and environmental issues through innovative approaches. A key focus will be the intersection of AI with social research, employing data-driven methodologies while upholding the highest standards of research ethics and responsible technology use.
The conference will explore key themes including future trends in research concerning society, family, and childhood in the age of AI. Discussions will also encompass AI applications in social security and crime prediction, the ethical responsibilities associated with its use in scientific research, and the study of green innovations and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. Furthermore, the conference will examine the application of AI in Islamic and legal studies, alongside future visions for the transformation of research in the humanities and social sciences, media, dialog, healthcare, and the fine arts.
