27th International Ice Sculpture Festival in Jelgava Concludes with stunning Displays
The 27th International Ice sculpture Festival in Jelgava, Latvia, wrapped up on february 8th, 2026, showcasing impressive ice creations and attracting visitors with a diverse cultural program. the festival, held from February 7th to 8th, featured over 30 ice sculptures, alongside activities for all ages, including science shows, sculpting duels, illusionist performances, a silent disco, a hospitality zone, and concerts.
Competition Results
The festival’s ice sculpture competition awarded prizes in two categories: team sculptures and individual sculptures.
Team Sculptures
- 1st Place – “THE UNIVERSE” (ankhuu Khishigdalai and Enkhbat Damdin (Mongolia))
- 2nd Place – “PORTRAIT OF ILLUSION” (Inna Tkachivska and Ihor Tkachivskyi (Ukraine))

Festival Highlights & Entertainment
The festival offered a wide range of entertainment options throughout the weekend. Saturday’s lineup included performances by “vintāža” and the group “Instrumenti.” Sunday featured the ensemble “tandem in Three,” Normunds rutulis with the Famous Riga Orchestra, and a closing performance by the energetic ethno-music group “Tautumeitas.”
