Alexandria police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Wednesday night at the ParcView Apartments complex on Holmes Run Parkway. Officers arrived at the 5300 block shortly after 11:14 p.m. to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts by police to provide lifesaving medical assistance, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation began following a series of 911 calls placed after 11 p.m. Reporting parties indicated a dispute was taking place in the apartment complex’s parking lot. Dispatch records suggest witnesses heard a woman yelling, “Why are you hitting me?” before she was reportedly led away from the area by a man. Minutes after the initial report, a second call alerted emergency services to the presence of a shooting victim at the same location.
Police Investigation and Custody
Following the discovery of the victim, police took one man and one woman into custody. Investigators have not confirmed whether the individuals in custody are considered suspects in the homicide. Police are currently working to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal encounter.
