Tens of thousands of worshippers from Nigeria and across the globe gathered along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway for the spiritual assembly, which ran from Monday, August 3, through Sunday, August 9, 2026. The programme featured daily worship sessions, intensive Bible studies, specialized seminars, and nightly prayer meetings, culminating in a final thanksgiving service that brought the week-long spiritual gathering to a close.
Ordinations at the 74th Annual Convention
Leadership ordinations formed a cornerstone of the annual programme. According to figures disclosed by the church’s Holy Ghost Service account on Instagram, the church ordained 2,820 candidates into the office of full pastor during the week according to the reporting outlet. The church emphasized the significance of the rank, noting that the full pastorate represents the highest pastoral office within the denomination.

Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, the church released figures for other administrative tiers, recording the ordination of 11,830 deacons and deaconesses alongside 5,977 assistant pastors.
Activities and Leadership at Redemption City
Sessions throughout the week were guided by senior church leadership. Pastor E.A. Adeboye led multiple core services, assisted by his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye, and other senior ministers. The schedule progressed through major spiritual milestones, featuring the Holy Ghost Service on Friday, followed by the Holy Communion and Anointing Service on Saturday.

Worshippers participated in specialized demographic sessions, baptismal rites, and daily teachings. Testimony and thanksgiving segments played a prominent role as attendees shared personal accounts throughout the week-long programme at the Ogun State campgrounds.
Newborns Recorded During the Gathering
On the final day of the convention, Pastor Adeboye announced a distinct milestone from the grounds of Redemption City: at least 88 babies were born over the course of the event. The newborns comprised 52 boys and 36 girls, adding a generational note to the conclusion of the church’s 74th annual meeting.
