Emergency response coordinators in Spain have opted to sustain ongoing civil protection protocols, keeping the communities of Los Ángeles de San Rafael and Vegas de Matute evacuated while maintaining a lockdown in Valdeprados due to an active forest fire originating near Navas de San Antonio, according to reports from El Adelantado.
The Integrated Operational Coordination Center, known as CECOPI, convened a 17:00 hours meeting at the Territorial Delegation of the Junta in Segovia to review the situation following morning firefighting operations. Although extinguishing efforts during the day proved productive, meteorological forecasts forced the coordination body to enforce strict precautions. Authorities are tracking wind gusts reaching up to 30 kilometers per hour, which remain a primary concern for containment stability.
As a result of these persistent wind risks, CECOPI confirmed that evacuation and confinement orders will remain in place while response teams monitor the progression of the flames. The operational center scheduled a subsequent evaluation meeting at 20:00 hours to determine whether changing weather conditions or fire behavior might permit adjustments to current civil protection measures.
Road Closures and Regional Traffic Impacts
Transportation networks across the affected Segovia zones remain heavily disrupted by emergency operations and active fire fronts. According to El Adelantado, the SG-722 highway is completely closed to civilian traffic.
Simultaneously, the N-603 roadway remains shut between kilometers 87 and 64 due to a separate nearby fire in Revenga. Emergency services classify the Revenga incident under Level 1 IGR (Ininterrumpido Grave de Riesgo), requiring strict perimeter controls and continuous monitoring by ground crews and aerial units.
