According to updates from local emergency management agencies and KOLO 8 News Now, evacuation warnings previously issued in the Red Rock area were upgraded to mandatory evacuation orders as erratic winds pushed the fire closer to residential properties. Simultaneously, evacuation notices were issued for Nixon, while other jurisdictions, including Cold Springs, saw previous evacuation restrictions lifted as containment efforts progressed on certain flanks of the fire.
