S-GAME has officially opened pre-orders for the Unreal Engine 5 Wuxia action RPG Phantom Blade Zero, releasing an expansive 11-minute trailer alongside pricing tiers. Sony Interactive Entertainment also announced a dedicated gameplay deep dive State of Play broadcast scheduled for August 17.
The dark Wuxia world of Phantom Blade Zero is officially available for pre-order, giving players their first concrete look at pricing and digital editions ahead of the game’s launch. Developer S-GAME released an extensive 11-minute trailer showcasing the title’s fast-paced combat and atmospheric setting, while Sony Interactive Entertainment lined up a standalone broadcast to pull back the curtain even further on the project’s intricate gameplay systems.
Pre-Order Editions, Pricing, and Digital Storefronts
Digital pre-orders span multiple tiers and currency structures depending on the regional storefront. For players purchasing the standard package, the Standard Edition costs $59.99, £54.99, or €69.99, which includes the base game and early unlock incentives. Stepping up to the Deluxe Edition brings the price to $69.99, £64.99, or €79.99, packing in additional cosmetic gear and digital collectibles.
Securing any pre-order grants early access to the Treasure Basin accessory and the Legacy outfit, though both items can also be acquired through standard in-game progression.
Donnie Yen’s Role and the Action Mechanics of Soul’s Journey
Donnie Yen has shaped the project. According to the company’s quoted statement, Yen has served as a creative consultant
for Phantom Blade Zero since 2023, lending his expertise in action filmmaking to combat design.
Beyond his behind-the-scenes contributions, Yen also performs facial and motion capture work for Mó Yuan, the father of the game’s protagonist, Soul. The narrative casts players as a warrior operating under a strict terminal constraint, burdened with only sixty-six days left to live as he fends off assassins and unravels conspiracies.
Upcoming August 17 State of Play and Launch Schedule
The extended promotional push culminates with a dedicated broadcast. Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed that a special Phantom Blade Zero gameplay deep dive State of Play will stream on August 17 at 7:00 p.m. ET, 3:00 a.m. JST.
The showcase will introduce previously unseen characters and demonstrate individual player build expression, expanding far beyond the frantic opening moments of Soul’s journey—which include battling enemies atop a speeding wagon and clashing with former comrades like The Hunt.
