A harrowing rescue​ unfolded in utah, culminating in the arrest of a father accused of endangering his four young⁤ children during a perilous mountain⁢ hike. The Rescue & Initial ‍Conditions

Rescuers reached the family⁣ via helicopter,⁢ discovering them approximately 600 feet from a mountain peak. The four-year-old was found lying on top of his two-year-old ‍sibling. Both children⁣ were unconscious, unable to breathe, and exhibiting dangerously⁢ low body temperatures. A History of concerning Behavior

This incident ‍isn’t⁢ an isolated event. Smith was booked ‌into a Salt Lake County jail ‍on November⁣ 25th,⁤ and this isn’t his first encounter with law enforcement. Just one month prior,⁢ police found‌ him ⁢attempting ⁣to ​locate a mountain armed with two guns and an axe, openly expressing suicidal​ thoughts.‌

He reportedly told officers he was “going through a really hard time” and desired to “hike up to the top of the mountain.” ⁤‍ Furthermore, a month⁤ after being rescued, Smith allegedly trespassed at Primary Children’s hospital, attempting to interfere with ⁣his son’s medical care and tampering with hospital equipment.
