Remedy Entertainment has defended its​ decision to launch⁤ Alan Wake 2 as an​ exclusive title on the ‍Epic Games Store, responding to criticism‌ regarding the potential impact ​on sales. The Finnish developer ⁢confirmed that the game would not have been possible without the financial backing of Epic Games Publishing,asserting that the terms‍ of ⁢the agreement were favorable to the studio.

The⁣ debate was sparked by comments from Michael Douse,⁢ publishing director at ‌Larian Studios (creators of Baldur’s Gate 3), who criticized ‌Epic Games’⁢ exclusivity practices.⁣ Douse suggested that Remedy could be losing hundreds ‌of millions of dollars ‌in revenue⁤ by limiting Alan wake 2 to a less popular digital storefront then Steam, especially given the studio’s ⁤recent financial ⁢difficulties.
