A significant reshuffle of Apricena‘s municipal government took place today, with mayor Antonio Potenza announcing a revised team following teh departure of Ada Soccio. Notably,Anna Maria Torelli is rejoining the administration,marking a return to public service for a familiar face.
“She is truly one of the cornerstones of this administration,” the mayor emphasized. Having dedicated 15 years to the city’s governance, Torelli has previously held various assessor positions and served as vice president of the provincial council. She will now be responsible for the crucial areas of urban Planning and Public Works.
Attorney Michele Di Maio has been nominated to assume the role of President of the Municipal Council, a position previously held by Anna Maria Torelli.
Engineer Bianca Matera will lead the Social Policies department, overseeing responsibilities including Family Policies, Immigration and Cooperation Policies, the local Health center, Equal Opportunities, and Animal Welfare.
Giuseppe Solimando will expand his portfolio, adding Productive Activities and Civic Uses to his existing duties encompassing City Services, Public Green Spaces, multi-services, Personnel, Civil Protection, Renewable Energy, and Agriculture.
Martino Gennaro specchiuli, currently serving as Health Assessor, will also manage Public Health, Budget, Viability, Urban Transport, Economic Programming, the disposal of Public Assets, and institutional portrayal of the municipality.
Ivan Augelli was recently appointed as Deputy Mayor and will continue to oversee Urban Hygiene and Environmental Services, Municipal Police, minor routine maintenance of public property, and the revitalization of the Sacra Famiglia district.
Councilors Sefora Palma (Programme Implementation, Participatory Budgeting, Culture, Public Education, School, University, Tourism, the ‘You Count More’ format, and major events), Michele Zuffrano (Sports, Youth Policies, maintenance of sports facilities), and Michele Di Maio (Cemetery, Demographic Services, Administrative Openness, and Litigation) will retain their current responsibilities. Moreover, Michele Zuffrano will provide support to the activities of the senior center, working alongside Assessor Bianca Matera.
The mayor also announced that non-elected individuals – Ciro Leggieri, Mariachiara Panella, Maria Rita Labombarda, Angelo giacobbe, and Carla Antonacci – will contribute to the administration by participating in working groups designed to further enhance administrative action.
“We’ve restarted with great momentum, if we ever paused at all,” Potenza stated.”You have called upon us to move forward, and we are happy to respond,” he conveyed to the citizens of Apricena.
