Burbank Police K-9, Spike, Killed in the Line of Duty

Just days after celebrating his fourth birthday, Spike was fatally shot while assisting officers during a traffic stop on Buena Vista Street near the 5 Freeway on Saturday night. The suspect, attempting to evade police, discharged multiple rounds, with one striking the courageous K-9.
