The Teatro Cánovas is set to launch its 2026 programming with the Spanish premiere of ‘Bon vent. Buen Viento’, a captivating contemporary circus project. This innovative performance, conceived as a creative hub, brings together artists from southern France and Spain, offering audiences a unique and immersive experience.
A collaborative Vision: ‘Bon Vent. Buen Viento’
Scheduled for Saturday, January 10th, at 6:30 PM, and Sunday, January 11th, at 12:00 PM in Sala A, ‘Bon Vent. buen Viento’ is designed to appeal to all ages. it represents a meaningful cultural cooperation initiative, fueled by Europa Creativa and La Grainerie – Fábrica de Artes del Circo. Furthermore, the project benefits from collaboration with the European circus project Sur a Sur, the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático, the Escuela Superior de Artes Plásticas de San Telmo, and the Conservatorio Superior de Música.
The core aim of this collaboration is to establish lasting connections and foster creativity among circus and performing arts professionals across both territories. I’ve found that these types of cross-border artistic endeavors often yield the most compelling and innovative results, as they blend diverse perspectives and techniques.
Artistic teams from La Grainerie and truca Circus have jointly assembled a cast comprised of performers from Andalusia and Toulouse. This ensemble is guided by two directors, each bringing their unique viewpoint from their respective geographical context. This collaborative approach builds upon previous successes, including ‘Circo de Sur a Sur’ (2022), directed by ana Donoso Mora and Albin Warette, and ‘La sombra del oro’ (2023), helmed by greta García and Morgan Cosquer, as well as ’El mundo mundial’ directed by Nicanor de Elia and Raquel Madrid.
Exploring Themes of Journey and change
Artistically, ‘Bon Vent.Buen Viento’ unfolds as a scenic journey in three distinct movements – departure, getting lost, and returning transformed
