A Festivity of Tradition: Embroidered Horse Trappings of Caravaca de la Cruz
An exhibition showcasing the intricate embroidery of Caravaca de la Cruz is currently on display,highlighting the vital role these artful creations play in the Caballos del Vino festival. The Caballos del Vino Festival
Celebrated annually from May 1st to 5th in Caravaca de la Cruz, murcia, the Caballos del Vino is a spectacle steeped in history and pageantry. The festival centers around horses adorned with lavishly embroidered trappings (enjaezamientos) as they race to the castle carrying wine barrels-a tribute to an ancient legend. The festival features horse parades, elaborate displays of horsemanship, and competitive events judging the beauty and artistry of the horse trappings.
