Chandigarh Alliance Crumbles: AAP & Congress Face Imminent Split

A⁣ fragile political alignment in Chandigarh appears too‍ be fracturing, potentially reshaping the city’s political landscape.
⁢The cooperative spirit between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Indian National Congress, initially forged in 2024 to counter the Bharatiya Janata‍ Party’s (BJP) influence during mayoral elections, is now facing considerable‌ strain.
While local leaders publicly dismiss the prospect of a formal split in the upcoming Municipal Corporation (MC) General House elections scheduled for December, the future of any alliance – notably regarding the pivotal mayoral race – remains uncertain, given the Congress’s openness to partnering with any party to defeat the BJP.

⁢ While local leaders of both parties are openly denying any possibility of fighting the MC General House elections,slated for December,together,there is a huge question mark on the upcoming mayoral elections,especially since the Congress is ‌saying it is open to‌ an “alliance with anyone”‍ to beat the saffron party. On the one hand, bitter rivals; on the other hand, partners in power. The BJP having the mayor’s chair in Chandigarh and the Congress ⁤holding the posts of senior deputy mayor and deputy mayor is strong⁣ proof of‍ an alliance between‌ the BJP and the Congress.The country has now understood this sham fight of yours.
