NEW YORK CITY: A groundbreaking initiative, Under the Radar Festival, in collaboration wiht Mayor Zohran Mandani, has launched “Under the Radar for All.” This program aims to make the transformative power of live performance accessible to 1,500 New Yorkers by offering complimentary tickets to select performances. Theater enthusiasts can now secure free tickets to 12 captivating shows online, as announced by Mandani during a press conference held in Brooklyn this morning.
“My vision for an affordable city extends beyond housing and childcare,” stated Mandani. “It encompasses opportunities for working individuals to experience joy, art, respite, and self-expression.” He recounted meeting New Yorkers during a recent giveaway and hearing firsthand about their daily struggles, emphasizing the vital importance of providing access to art for those who might or else be excluded. He expressed gratitude for the festival’s dedication to broadening access to the arts for all New Yorkers.
HERE Arts Center, currently under the co-direction of Jesse Cameron Alick,annalisa Dias,Lanxing fu,and Lauren Miller,will be participating in the initiative with the world premiere of Dream Feed by the HawtPlates. Performances are scheduled for January 14-16
