Couple Found Shot in Grant Hill, Suspects in Custody
A man and a woman were found shot to death in San Diego’s Grant Hill neighborhood, and two suspects have been taken into custody, according to authorities. Ramses “Rex” morales, 21, pleaded not guilty to murder charges on Thursday, while his girlfriend, Princess Garcia Perez, 25, pleaded not guilty to being an accessory after teh fact.
Details of the Crime and Arrests
On Monday, January 20, 2026, Ruben chavez, 31, and evelyn Virgen, 28, were discovered with gunshot wounds in the 100 block of 27th Street just before 12:30 a.m. [[2]] Remarkably, three of Virgen’s young children, all under the age of two, were unharmed and found in a nearby parked vehicle.
Morales and Perez were apprehended at the San Ysidro Port of Entry shortly after 10 a.m. on Monday, following the shooting.
Previous Relationship and Potential Motive
Investigators have revealed that chavez and Perez previously dated, and that both victims had been involved in an ongoing dispute with Morales and perez. The nature of this dispute has not been publicly disclosed.

Morales faces not only murder charges but also three counts of child endangerment related to Virgen’s children.
