robert Pollard, the creative force behind the incredibly prolific band Guided by Voices, describes himself as a student of the perfect hook. He defines it as that unique blend of lyrics adn chords that sends a shiver down your spine – a sensation any longtime GBV fan knows well.
The band delivers on that promise with thier latest single, “(You Can’t Go Back to) Oxford Talawanda.” This track is the frist taste from Thick, Rich and Delicious, their second full-length release of 2025.
