Charlotte’s journey nearly ended at 16. A sudden, critical illness landed her in Riley Hospital for Children, leaving her family and friends in a state of agonizing uncertainty. While Charlotte remembers little of those harrowing days, those closest to her will never forget.
Her mother,Kate,still finds herself moved to tears recalling the first 48 hours. Erin, Charlotte’s other mother, describes a newfound emotional sensitivity, even admitting to shedding tears over heartwarming TikTok videos. It’s a natural response to the trauma and gratitude they’ve experienced.
