New Delhi – The employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is poised to substantially improve accessibility to its services by introducing ‘EPF Suvidha Providers,’ authorized facilitators designed to assist members with navigating their Provident Fund accounts and resolving related issues. This initiative aims to streamline processes, particularly for first-time users and those less familiar with digital platforms, reducing the need for in-person visits to EPFO offices.
Expanding Access and Simplifying Processes
The proposal for EPF Suvidha Providers is scheduled for discussion at the upcoming Central Board of Trustees (CBT) meeting in February. These providers will be officially authorized and regulated by the EPFO,ensuring a standardized level of service and accountability. A pilot program is currently underway in Delhi to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of the model.
According to officials, the introduction of Suvidha Providers is a key component of the EPFOS broader digital change strategy. The goal is to create a single-window system for addressing any PF-related concerns, offering a more user-friendly experience for millions of subscribers.these providers will be incentivized based on the number of members they successfully assist.
Recent Streamlining Efforts and Digital Initiatives
The move to introduce Suvidha Providers builds upon recent efforts by the EPFO to simplify procedures and enhance digital accessibility. In October, the institution consolidated 13 complex withdrawal provisions into a single, more straightforward rule, allowing members to withdraw up to 75% of their eligible PF balance for specified needs.
Furthermore, the EPFO is preparing to launch an instantaneous advance withdrawal facility through the BHIM app, offering a convenient and rapid way for members to access funds when needed. This builds on the existing digital infrastructure and aims to reduce processing times.
Doorstep Service for EPS Pensioners
Recognizing the challenges faced by pensioners, the EPFO recently launched a free doorstep service for EPS (employees’ Pension Scheme)
