The legal team representing Nicolás Maduro is currently facing internal conflict, as a request has been made to disqualify bruce Fein, a former Department of Justice attorney who served during the Reagan governance, from defending the Venezuelan president in a criminal case.
This challenge, submitted by Washington-based attorney barry Pollack, emerged just two days after fein joined the legal team and followed a brief court appearance where Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, pleaded not guilty to charges of narco-terrorism and illegal weapons possession in Manhattan federal court.
