Gabriel expressed his gratitude to director Josh Safdie for selecting the song, noting it’s not often chosen for prominent placements.He shared on his official website that “I Have the Touch,” featuring the iconic bass work of Tony Levin, doesn’t frequently get asked for a dance.

Interestingly, the film’s soundtrack boasts a geographical connection beyond just the ping-pong action. Marty Supreme also features “Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime” by The Korgis and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears. Gabriel pointed out that all three songs were writen and recorded in and around the city of Bath, England.
