Zulia State Taekwondo association Begins Preparations for 2026 National Sports Games
The state of Zulia, Venezuela, has officially begun its high-level competitive cycle for Taekwondo. On Saturday, January 17, the Zuliana Tae Kwon Do Association held its first Regional Camp,a strategic event designed to identify athletes for the upcoming National Sports Games 2026.
The camp took place at the headquarters of the National Institute of Sports (ONES) in Sierra Maestra, San Francisco Municipality, beginning at 08:00 AM.
Talent Acquisition and Technical Evaluation
José Manuel Gelvez, president of the zuliana Tae Kwon Do association, emphasized the importance of the 2026 National Games as the highest event in Venezuelan sports. The association is prioritizing preparations for this key competition.
“We are already preparing for this important competition. This first camp brings together male and female athletes, from Green Belt onwards, born between 2006 and 2009,” Gelvez explained.
The association’s technical commission conducted thorough technical-tactical evaluations to assess the physical condition and combat level of the athletes. This assessment will establish a solid work base leading up to the national checkup.
