This update came during a press conference designed to address public concerns and outline the next steps in the inquiry.
according to authorities, a special case review revealed that debate surrounding the validity of academic qualifications had largely subsided. Instead, the discussion centered on the substance of the allegations regarding potential election interference. “That’s why the Jakarta Metropolitan Police held a press conference today to provide details to the public about the results and situation during the special case review, including the follow-up steps that will be taken by investigators,” a spokesperson stated.
Eight Suspects Named
The Jakarta Metropolitan Police have officially named eight individuals as suspects in the case, which was initially reported by President Joko Widodo.These suspects have been categorized into two distinct groups.
The first group comprises five individuals: Eggi Sudjana, Kurnia Tri Rohyani, Damai Hari Lubis, Rustam Effendi, and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah. They are believed to be central figures in the dissemination of the disputed claims.
The second group consists of three suspects: Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, and Tifauzia Tyassuma, also known as dr. Tifa. Their alleged roles are currently under investigation.
To date, investigators have interviewed 130 witnesses and seized 17 types of physical evidence. Furthermore, the police have collected 709 documents as evidence and consulted wiht 22 experts from various fields to ensure a comprehensive and scientifically sound investigation.
