Sabaton Eyes Assassin’s Creed Collaboration & Reflects on Australian Fanbase
Sabaton, the Swedish power metal band renowned for their historical battle themes, is actively considering expanding their presence in the gaming world.During a recent discussion, the possibility of licensing their music for an Assassin’s Creed installment – or even the anticipated Netflix series – was raised.
The conversation stemmed from the band’s previous prosperous collaboration with World of Tanks. Joakim Brodén, Sabaton’s frontman, admitted he hadn’t previously considered the Assassin’s Creed franchise, but quickly recognized the potential. He believes their latest song, “Templars,” possesses the epic quality fitting for the series.
Specifically, Brodén suggested a strong thematic alignment with Assassin’s Creed Origins. He also noted that their song “Musashi” would be a notably good fit for the more recent Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
A History of Australian Adventures
Beyond potential gaming partnerships,Sabaton holds fond memories of their Australian fanbase. Their first visit in 2013,supporting Nightwish, blossomed into an extended exploration of the country.
Brodén recounted a particularly memorable experience: a week-long stay with an Australian fan named Andrew in Adelaide. This involved a road trip along the iconic Great Ocean Road, complete with body surfing and, as brodén playfully admitted, “many, many” nights of revelry. He fondly remembers stopping to experience everything the region had to offer.
