Reducing Ultra-Processed Foods Improves Metabolic Health in Older Adults
A growing body of research links the high consumption of ultra-processed foods – those made with ingredients rarely found in a typical kitchen, such as emulsifiers, flavour enhancers, colorings, and preservatives – too poorer health outcomes. These foods are prevalent in packaged snacks, ready-to-eat meals, and some processed meats. A recent study investigated the effects of reducing these foods in the diets of older adults.
