key Performances and Match Highlights

The BCB team faced challenges with its lineup due to the concurrent international tournaments. Marvin Seidel stepped in to play men’s singles, battling Matthew Grimley of Wipperfeld. Seidel won the first game but unfortunately suffered a muscle injury during the second, forcing his retirement from the match. The extent of his injury is currently under evaluation. Team manager Peter Käsbauer stated, “We don’t yet know exactly how bad it is indeed. The inquiry will show that in the next few days. But we hope that Marvin will only be out for a few days and that it’s nothing major.”

Frederik Søgaard’s return to the BCB team proved pivotal. He secured wins in both the 2nd men’s doubles (partnering with Mark Caljouw) and the mixed doubles (with Isabel Lohau),earning two crucial points for the team. “It’s nice to wear the blue jersey again and be part of the team again. Those were two good wins today and I really enjoyed the games at a high level,” Søgaard commented after the match.

Additional points for BCB were contributed by Mark Caljouw in the first men’s singles and Kalojana Nalbantova in the women’s singles.
