Former U.S.​ President Donald Trump has once again ‍raised the possibility of purchasing Greenland, this time linking⁣ it to⁢ potential trade tariffs on several European⁣ nations. His recent statements suggest he woudl impose tariffs until the United States “entirely acquires” the autonomous Danish territory. This move has sparked controversy and drawn criticism from Denmark and Greenland itself.

Trump’s interest ⁤in Greenland is not new.⁤ In 2019, he publicly discussed the​ possibility of the United States buying Greenland, an idea that was swiftly rejected‍ by both Denmark and Greenland’s government.
