Varanasi to Host Sports Competitions for Journalists
Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh – The 38th Dinanath Gupt Smriti Media Badminton and Vishwanath Singh Daddu Table Tennis, Chess and Carrom Competition will be held in Varanasi from January 22nd to 24th, 2026. The event is organized for members of the kashi Journalist Association and Varanasi Press Club.

According to Krishna Bahadur Rawat, coordinator of the Sports Organizing Committee, entries for the competition will be accepted until January 20th, 2026. Interested journalists can submit their entries to office assistant Vishwadeep Bapuli or Rajeev Chaurasia at Smriti Bhawan.
The competitions, held as part of the second phase of the Anand chandola Sports Mahotsav under the Varanasi Press Club’s banner, will include singles and lucky doubles events in badminton and carrom. Matches will take place at the Ishwarchandra Sinha Multipurpose Hall of Paradkar Smriti Bhawan, located in Golghar.
