Speech-Language Pathologist Position at Neurological Rehabilitation Center
A neurological rehabilitation center is seeking a full-time, part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join its dynamic multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on the care of adult patients with neurological conditions, including stroke (CVA) adn traumatic brain injury (TBI).
job Responsibilities
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of language, dialog, speech, voice, and swallowing disorders resulting from neurological conditions.
- Developing and implementing individualized rehabilitation plans.
- Providing therapy for acquired language and communication disorders, speech disorders, voice disorders, and dysphagia (swallowing difficulties).
- Utilizing alternative communication methods and adaptive feeding strategies.
- Educating patients and their families on risks associated with dysphagia and providing appropriate guidance.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, neuropsychologists, nursing staff, and psychomotor therapists.
Department Overview
The rehabilitation, readaptation, and follow-up care center comprises:
- A 51-bed physical medicine and Rehabilitation unit.
- A 15-bed High Dependency Unit (HDJ).
- A 50-bed Neurological Rehabilitation unit specializing in brain injury.
- A 26-bed Follow-up Care unit.
- A geriatric rehabilitation service at the “Les Bateliers” geriatric hospital.
The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation unit treats patients with severe traumatic or rheumatological conditions, amputations, neuromuscular or peripheral nerve disorders, spinal conditions, and movement disorders related to neurological conditions. The Neurological Rehabilitation unit specializes in patients with central nervous system injuries, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, operated brain tumors, and patients emerging from comas.
