Three people were injured during a shooting incident on Chicago’s Near West Side early Sunday morning, according to the Chicago Police Department. The incident, which occurred in the 100 block of South Honore Street at approximately 2:18 a.m., remains under investigation by Area Three detectives as authorities continue to search for the suspects involved.
Details of the Near West Side Shooting
Law enforcement officials reported that two women were seated inside a vehicle when a silver sedan approached the location. An individual inside the sedan then produced a firearm and opened fire on the vehicle. According to the Chicago Police Department, a 35-year-old woman sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
A second victim, a 36-year-old woman, was also inside the vehicle during the attack. Police confirmed she suffered a graze wound to the head and was reported to be in good condition following the incident. A third individual, a 28-year-old man, was wounded in the right leg during the same timeframe. Officials stated that he transported himself to a hospital for treatment and was also listed in good condition.
