Gentle Chair Yoga: A Practise for Grounding and Well-being

Self-hug
Begin by finding a pleasant seated position in your chair, with your feet flat on the floor.
* Exhale and wrap your arms around yourself in a comforting hug.
* Tuck your chin gently toward your chest, releasing any tension in your neck and shoulders.
Inhale deeply, then open your arms wide, palms facing up and elbows slightly bent. Feel the expansion across your chest and back. continue this alternating movement for four repetitions, consciously switching which arm is on top with each hug. This simple act cultivates self-compassion and opens your heart space.
Equal Breathing
now, let’s focus on the rhythm of your breath. Place one hand on your belly and the other on your heart.Close your eyes softly.
* Breathe slowly and deeply, aiming for an equal length of inhale and exhale.
* Feel the gentle rise and fall of your belly with each breath,and the subtle expansion in your chest.
Take 3-4 breaths, allowing the energy of the practice to settle within you. Notice how this focused breathing brings a sense of calm and centeredness.
Hands to Heart
Bring your palms together in front of your chest, as you gently open your eyes. Notice the feeling of groundedness and spaciousness within your body.
