Momentum swiftly shifted back to the Irish thanks to a forced fumble. Adon Shuler dislodged the ball from USC wide receiver Makai Lemon on a trick play attempt, with linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa securing the recovery.
Seven plays later, Audric Estime powered into the endzone from one yard out, extending Notre Dame’s lead to 34-24 with 7:16 remaining in the game. Luke Talich then punctuated the victory with a late-fourth-quarter interception of Maiava, effectively sealing USC’s fate.
