When asked about comparisons between himself and Mamdani – both seen as populist figures who challenge traditional party lines – Trump offered a surprising response: “I think I’m a much better-looking person than him, right?” A subsequent post from a White House account suggested the comment was made in jest.
Beyond aesthetics, Trump labeled Mamdani a “communist” and threatened to withhold federal funding from New York if he wins, stating, “If you have a communist running New York, all you’re doing is wasting the money you’re sending there.”
