Brunner secures 40th UCI Win at Boulder Cup Cyclocross Return
The Boulder Cup roared back onto the UCI cyclocross calendar this weekend, delivering thrilling racing and marking a significant milestone for Swiss rider Kevin Brunner. He clinched his 40th UCI victory, dominating the competition with a commanding performance. Brunner finished a full 1 minute and 19 seconds ahead of his closest rival, showcasing his current form.
A Dominating Performance
Brunner savored his fifth win of the 2025 cyclocross season. Ivan Sippy of Colorado Mesa University secured second place, followed closely by Jack Spranger, also from Colorado Mesa University, in third. Spranger crossed the finish line just 17 seconds after Sippy, completing a competitive podium.
The Return of a Classic
The Boulder Cup’s return was highly anticipated after a five-year absence. Previously held as the US Open of Cyclocross in 2019, the event once again took place at Valmont Park. The course itself is a challenging test for riders, featuring steep climbs and technical sections – the same layout used for the 2014 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships.
Looking Ahead
Racing continues at Valmont Park on Sunday with C2 races. Expect more intense competition and exciting action as riders battle for valuable UCI points.
